Blubrry BlogWorld Vegas After Party

The Blubrry Team had an incredible, educational and inspirational long weekend, Oct. 14-18, at the Blogworld and New Media Expo. And not just the kind of inspiration you see in the photo below, rather we gave and received valuable insights about the Blubrry PowerPress, podcasting progress and the people in our communities.  We were able to meet some great people, catch up with friends and spread the word to bloggers and podcasters that blogging louder through RawVoice and Blubrry is more than just an option, it’s the option.

True, socially our highlight of the weekend was the Blubrry Vegas After Party at the famous Peppermill Fireside Lounge Friday night, Oct. 16. The strolling magician, DJ’s tunes, showgirls and of course Little Elvis set the tone and pushed the kitsch over the top at the Peppermill. Yeah, we can honestly say this was our best party yet  — because you told us so.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made the event such a success! A special thanks to our organizers, Aileen Kenny and Mat Luschek. We hope they’re not busy next year. Even more importantly, we look forward to seeing you there next year!

See The Blubrry Jam

If you were one of the people who couldn’t make it to the Blubrry Jam live event back in April you can get some right here on the Blubrry blog.

This video features performances by HER & Kings County and Brother Love. Brolo brought out some tunes off the new album that you may not have heard before.

Keith and the Girl are the emcees for the event. Jerry Cahill of the Cystic Fibrosis Podcast speaks about the effects of the disease and how your contributions help the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

The event took place at the Canal Room and video was shot by Ben Williams.

End Of The Blubrry Jam Campaign

Today marks the official end date of the Blubrry Jam To Fight Cystic Fibrosis charitable campaign.

I want to thank everyone who donated. You can see a list of individuals who gave here at the bottom of the page. I also want to thank those who attended the live show and bought Brother Love’s music from Amie Street. Every little bit helps.

Special thanks to Mignon Fogarty (and her Traveling Avatar podcast) for a top line donation of $150. Jamie Davis of the MedicCast and Jeff Hinz The Friday Night Dance Party podcast (and of RawVoice) for their generous donations.

We also got great support from Brother Love, the Boomer Esiason Foundation, Keith and the Girl, Amie Street, and The Canal Room. Let’s not forget Blubrry Jam Live Show openers HER & Kings County as well.

Lots of great people were involved in the effort. We hope that this can be a template for future campaigns and charitable events driven by individuals with a stake in podcasting and new media.

Did I mention that May is CF awareness month? It is! Please visit and do what you can to support Jerry and the foundation.

A slide show of photos from the Blubrry Jam To Fight Cystic Fibrosis live event on April 7th in New York City.

Brother Love really rocked it out. Keith And The Girl were excellent hosts. Jerry Cahill gave a great speech. Many podcasters, including Soccergirl were in the house.

The slideshow is accompanied by the song Soccergirl from Brother Love's forthcoming CD, Turn It Up.

Blubrry Jam Live Event Wrap Up

Brother Love Performing at the Blubrry Jam Live Event

What a great night last night in New York City. On several levels the Blubrry Jam live event was a success.

1. No hitches. Thanks to the team at RawVoice including Jeff, Jeevan and Matt working hard. Family members pitched in too. Ben “Bendrix” Williams donated his video skills covering the entire event. The folks at the Canal Room were total pros as well.
2. Good turn out. In spite of cold weather, the Easter holiday and conflicting events. Podcasters (like Soccergirl & Ryan, Lynette and Chris Penn), podsafe musicians (like Slau, Lee Coulter and ShynDigg) and podcast moguls (from Podcast Pickle and Podcast Ready) mingled and enjoyed the show.
3. Top notch entertainment. HER & Kings County delivered some powerful urban country music. Keith & The Girl served up some edgy laughs between sets. Then Brother Love did his thing rocking the stage for an hour with new songs from Turn It Up and the the excellent stuff from Album Of The Year.

And to top it off we raffled an Apple TV at the end of the night. The night crawlers moved on to Tribeca Tavern just a few doors down to continue the party. From the looks of it everyone was having a real good time.

Thank you to everyone who helped out, showed up or gave some kind of support to this event.

Its important to note that the Blubrry Jam online campaign is still going until May 15th. So you can still help out by donating online at the Blubrry Jam page, buying the (DRM-free) music of Brother Love and HER & Kings County over on Amie Street or by promoting the campaign in general.

And don’t worry. Plenty of pics and videos to follow for those who couldn’t make it to the event in person.

I really can’t believe this date has snuck up on us so fast. Podcamp NYC is kicking off tomorrow at 6PM over at Slate. I hear that Brother Love will be there tomorrow night pressing the flesh and hanging with the folks who’ve really made a difference in his indie music career.
